The Buddha described the path of meditation as being beautiful in the beginning, beautiful in the middle, and beautiful in the end.

Whether you are a beginner, have some experience of meditation, or are already advanced in your practice, you are welcome to come and meditate with us.

Our teachers instruct a broad range of meditation subjects. Taking into account your past practice and natural inclination, they will work with you to find a meditation subject that is suitable for you.

Origin of the teachings

None of the meditation techniques instructed at Sandiṭṭhika are invented by us. All are taken directly from the ancient Pali texts and their commentaries. These practises have stood the test of time, and have been leading dedicated meditators to liberation for over 2,500 years.

The ancient Pali texts describe the teachings as follows:

Svakkhato Bhagavata dhammo sanditthiko akaliko ehipassiko opanayiko paccattam vedittabbo vinnuhiti

Which translates as:

Well taught is the Buddha’s Dhamma, visible here and now, timeless, inviting you to come and see, leading onwards, to be experienced directly by the wise

We welcome you to come and see for yourself, here and now, the beauty and depth of these timeless teachings.
